Privacy
This page explains what Uptick Board collects on this site, what it is used for, and how to reach us. It is written to be read, not skimmed. If anything here is unclear, email privacy@uptickboard.com.
Who we are
Uptick Board is operated by Gusto Solutions, LLC, a California limited liability company doing business as Uptick Board ("we", "us"). Uptick Board is an advertising placement product: a public board of AI categories where companies pay to hold the #1 placement.
What we collect, and why
- Watch a category. When you watch a category we store your email address, the ticker you watched, and the time. We use this to tell you when sealed stakes open for that category and to send The Uptick Report. Legal basis: your request (consent).
- The Uptick Report. When you subscribe we store your email address and the time. We use it to send the Monday newsletter. Legal basis: consent. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link.
- Bot protection. Both forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which may process your IP address and browser signals to tell people from bots. Turnstile does not set tracking cookies. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Visitor identification. We use RB2B, a third-party service that identifies the companies and, in some cases, the individual business contacts behind visits to this site, using data it holds and signals from your browser. This happens without you filling in a form. We use it to understand which companies are interested in placements and to contact them about Uptick Board. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in business-to-business marketing. To opt out, email privacy@uptickboard.com and we will suppress your record.
- Server logs. Our host records standard request data (IP address, user agent, URL, time) for security and to keep the site up. Logs are kept for a short, fixed period and are not used for advertising.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. We do not use your email address for anything other than the watch alerts and The Uptick Report described above, unless you ask us to.
Who processes it
- Supabase — stores the watchers list and form submissions (database hosted in [[region]]).
- beehiiv — sends The Uptick Report and holds the subscriber list.
- Cloudflare — hosts the site and provides Turnstile bot protection.
- RB2B — identifies business visitors to this site.
Each processes data only on our instructions and under its own terms. [[Add Stripe here before checkout goes live.]]
How long we keep it
Watch records and newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to then removed within 30 days. Server logs are kept for no more than [[30]] days. Visitor identification records are kept for [[12]] months.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from any email using the link in it. You can ask us at any time to see, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing privacy@uptickboard.com. We answer within 30 days. California residents have the rights described in the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them; we do not sell personal information. Our use of RB2B may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising as the CPRA defines it; California residents may opt out by emailing privacy@uptickboard.com. Residents of the UK and EEA have the rights set out in the GDPR, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
Children
This site is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
When this page changes, the effective date above changes with it. Material changes are announced in The Uptick Report.
